Be Better Than The Sway!

We had a really wonderful experience figuring out our first dance for our wedding with Emily! My fiancé and I are not experienced dancers, but in the three classes we took, Emily transformed what seemed like an impossible task into a wonderful dance. She was so kind, patient and supportive every step of the way, and fully encouraged us that we could put this dance together is such little time. We looked forward to each class. She choreographed something that was natural, a lot of fun, beautiful and gave us the confidence to feel really good and proud of ourselves at our wedding. We fully recommend Emily and thank her for helping us dance with style and assurance for the most important dance of our lives.

Emily was great to work with and really kind! She choreographed both the first dance at our wedding as well as the father/daughter dance. None of us had much experience dancing so we were a bit nervous but Emily put us at ease and even choreographed our first dance to include some lifts we had wanted to try! She also went the extra mile to send us a written script of all of the steps as well as a video from the lesson with her calling out the steps so we could practice on our own which was really helpful!! We would highly recommend Emily!

I truly can't say enough good things about working with Emily for our first dance. We are NOT dancers and were approaching our dance lessons as more of damage control than anything else. Emily was able to come to our apartment which made the whole experience so much fun and relaxed for us. Both my fiance and I agreed this was by far the most fun part of our wedding planning process. Emily made up a dance completely unique to us and the song we chose, we learned the entire dance over the course of 4 hours worth of sessions (broken into 3 sessions) it was perfect. She is wonderful at her job - I've already recommended her to all my friends getting married!

We loved working with Emily to choreograph a first dance for our wedding. From the first email interaction to the end of our third and final lesson, Emily was warm, friendly, and easy to work with. She worked around our schedule to make everything as convenient as possible, even coming to our apartment for lessons. She was skilled at making us feel comfortable rather than silly, and the videos she made for us to practice between lessons were so valuable for getting the steps just right. I'd highly recommend Emily to any couples considering dance lessons. She made the experience fun, and it was one of our favorite parts of wedding planning.

Emily came to our house twice before our wedding and it was a BLAST. She was patient, funny, and embraced our quirks. We used the first session learning different moves and we put them all together in a structured dance during the second session. We got so many compliments during our wedding day because they said it looked effortless. Not too structured or cheesy, but very romantic and impressed that we pulled out some unique moves that went with our song perfectly! We felt so comfortable and confident thanks to Emily. Emily is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! My husband and I had no experience dancing and took a few last-minute lessons the week of our wedding. Emily was patient and made it really fun and relaxing even though we were down to the wire. She is incredibly professional - highly highly recommend!!!

Wow, we had so much fun with Emily. She's wonderful, traveled to us and is a wealth of dancing knowledge. She did the impossible: showed that my fiance has some rhythm. I cannot wait for our first dance to show of everything we learned!

Emily is a fantastic dance teacher! She helped us coordinate our first dance at our wedding. She choreographed a gorgeous dance that was simple for us as beginners to perform, but looked like we were trained dancers! She was able to choreograph a dance that highlighted my wife’s beautiful wedding dress and made me look like a professional! She was fun to work with and even edited our song for us. Emily is friendly and a great choreographer!

Emily was an absolute joy to work with! We didn’t have much time before our wedding for dance lessons, but Emily was able to teach us a full choreographed dance in just 2 sessions. We really looked forward to our lessons with her. She immediately made us comfortable and took time to make sure we had it down! We had a fantastic time and would highly recommend her!

She was amazingly helpful in creating a dance for my daughters Quinces. Especially given the time constraints. I only had two weeks. In three days she had blended the two songs and created a whole dance. She was patient and quickly responded to all my texts. It all turned out beautiful. We came to Emily with the goal of learning a first dance for our wedding in two lessons - a jazz standard, Sway. Both my fiancé and I have very minimal dance experience. Emily gave us the confidence and skill to be able to accomplish this goal. She was fun to work with, created a sophisticated yet attainable choreography, made us laugh, and brought my fiancé and I closer through this fun experience! Emily was the most amazing dance instructor we could have hoped for. My husband and I are very busy and admittedly waited until the last minute to realize we were worried about our wedding dance. Emily came out from New York to see us in NJ the weekend before our wedding, and even postponed other commitments to get to us because she knew our day was coming soon. The dance she choreographed for us was just what we needed for the unusual song we picked, and all our guests loved it. Emily was super fun to work with and had a great sense of humor, and I wish I had another dance to plan so I could hire her again!

Emily was such a doll to work with. She was professional and came prepared knowing our song and had ideas about moves she wanted to teach us ahead of time. Throughout the lesson, she also allowed us to have fun with it! At the end of the lesson my fiancé even admitted he had a blast, and that is no easy feat! Emily immediately made us feel comfortable, and taught us basic moves so we can feel confident on our wedding day! It was a perfect blend of teaching us the moves without making it actually feel too dance-y and choreographed. I highly recommend booking Emily if you’re looking for a fun and educational way to feel the best on your wedding day. You’ll want to tell all of your friends and even hire her for a second lesson because she makes it such an amazing experience!

We had a wonderful Wedding Dance Lesson with Emily, and we couldn't have asked for a better instructor! She took time to understand what we wanted out of the lesson, she was patient whenever it took us time to figure things out, and she was super nice and funny along the way. It was very relaxed and set a great tone, she reminded us that the first dance is supposed to be fun. Neither of us are "dancers," but we left the lesson feeling 100x more confident, and we're already feeling way more excited about first dance now that we're not so nervous.
